This is the raw version of cheese sauce.  When I tried this, surprisingly, I liked it.  I tried another version and practically spat it out.  Therefore, I was apprehensive about trying this one.  As mentioned, I liked it.  This turns out to be an easy homemade cheese sauce recipe.

 

 

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup extra olive oil
  • 1 ½ cup organic orange and yellow pepper
  • ½ tsp minced garlic
  • 1 cup raw cashews, soaked for 2 hours
  • 1-3 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • ¼ cup nutritional yeast
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp xanthan gum (optional)
  • ¼ cup canned green chiles
  • Taco Seasonings TT
  • Salt TT
  • White Pepper TT

Directions

  1. Rough chop the bell pepper
  2. Place all ingredients, including the turmeric and xanthan gum (except the oil, other seasonings, and green chiles) in your Vitamix
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy
  4. Once smooth and creamy, slowly pour the oil into the Vitamix while running until it will create an emulsification
  5. Pour into a glass jar
  6. Mix the seasonings, salt and pepper into the cheese. Add until you’re pleased with the taste
  7. Stir in the chilies
  8. Cover into the sauce and place into the frig. Will keep up to 4 days

Again, this is an easy homemade cheese sauce recipe, an easy vegan cheese sauce, and a quick easy cheese sauce.  What other words can I use to say that this is quick and easy.  Enjoy
