I love these mixed nuts as snacks. To me, these are guilt-free little indulgences that help keep me on the straight and narrow. Yes, I am aware that nuts have fat, however I feel better about eating this goodness as opposed to the unhealthy varieties that I loved not so long ago.
Feel free to add as little or as much of any item as you want. Personally for me, it’s the raisins and dried cranberries.
1 cup of Raw Almonds, soaked and dried (or your favorite nut)
1 cup of Raw Cashews, soaked and dried (or your favorite nut)
1 cup of Raisins
1 cup of granola
½ cup of dried cranberries
½ cup of dried coconut (optional)
½ cup of dried bananas (optional)
½ cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
Dash of salt
Make sure the nuts are completely dried after being soaked. I usually mix all of the above ingredients together in a gallon plastic storage bag.
Barely seal the bag. Fold the bag to get all of the air out. You may either keep all of the nuts in the sealed gallon bag or separate them in small sandwich bags.
The gallon bags allow you to eat the snacks freely. The sandwich bags allow you to take them and go.
